Green Homes Equal Green Dollars
Real Estate buyers are red hot for green homes according to a March 17, 2008 article in Newsweek entitled “Not Just for Tree Huggers.” The Newsweek article suggests that interest in purchasing green homes remains high despite the free fall in housing prices. It states, “But amid this gloom, there’s buzz about consumers’ shifting demand toward 'green homes' and how builders with this expertise remain busy despite the bust. In a 2007 survey by the National Association of Home Builders, home buyers said they’d be willing to spend an additional $8,964 on a home if it could cut their utility bills.”

Shop 'Til You Drop – Tanger Outlet Center
Outlet shoppers heading to the Gulf Coast beaches will certainly notice that Tanger is fully committed to making "change" an exciting part of the company’s future. At the Tanger Outlet Center in Foley, the familiar sound of cash registers ringing has been joined by the sound of heavy machinery, drilling and hammering as an ambitious, multi-million dollar expansion and renovation is well underway.
Since spring 2007, the Tanger Outlet Center in Foley, Alabama has been in the throes of a $25 million center-wide expansion and facelift. The new look of Tanger Center now includes an expanded Food Court and an East Phase expansion that is comprised of ten new tenant spaces. Architectural tower features and a bright new color scheme enhance the property. The cosmetic work should be completed around Memorial Day Weekend this year. However, still underway is the development of the center courtyard area where Tanger is adding additional parking and customer amenities including a playground area, interactive water feature and new outdoor market area complete with beautiful landscaping, seating and kiosks. Construction work on this center courtyard area may span the summer, but Tanger will host a Grand Re-Opening celebration during the month of July.
