After an intensive application process SH Enterprises, Inc., parent company for CENTURY 21 Meyer Real Estate, Meyer Vacation Rentals, Meyer Services, Starr Textile Services and Starr Textile Services of Louisiana, recently received certification as a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) pursuant to the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) National Certification Program.

Sheila Hodges, sole owner and Chairman of the Board of SH Enterprises, Inc, states “Our organization is proud to receive the Woman-owned Business (WBE) designation of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).” Hodges adds “The WBENC was founded in 1997 and is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States and is the nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations.”

Hodges further states “The eligibility and criteria for our organization being certified as a Woman-owned Business (WBE) was administered by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council South (WBEC), one of the 14 Regional Partner Organizations of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBEC is a non-profit organization with a mission to certify bona fide women-owned businesses and to promote the activities directed at the development, establishment, expansion and encouragement of businesses owned by women in all regions of the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and the Florida Panhandle.”

Hodges adds “WBEC South is an organization for women business owners interested in promoting, developing and maintaining relationships with other women business owners, major corporations and governmental agencies. Their mission is to advance and enhance business opportunities between women-owned businesses and corporations through a reputable certification program, education and professional growth opportunities.”
