Off The Beaten Path – Gators After Dark
My daughter Jameson and I have visited 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center many times – they are located on the Causeway where the Mobile, Spanish, Tensaw, Apalachee and Blakeley rivers flow into Mobile Bay. The 250,000 acres are filled with discovery and adventure opportunities via scenic waterways, woods and wetlands. They offer canoe trips, boat rides, etc., but when we heard about the Gators After Dark experience we could not pass it up! We got to hear all about the toothy reptiles, learn to recognize the sounds they make, pet (I suppose that is the correct term for Jameson, but I was more like touch and run) a baby alligator and then head out to the delta to be the first to spot our new friends as they peered at us passing by. Tennis Anyone? Andy Roddick Wants to Play
US Davis Cup and Olympic team members Andy Roddick, Mardy Fish, and Bob and Mike Bryan will headline the Gulf Coast Tennis Challenge on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama. The event will benefit the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program which brings high school girls from all 50 states to our area. General tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on July 9, 2011, available through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices start at $24.50.
