Orange Beach vacationers: Race to Mobile for the Azalea Trail Run

ou vacation in a beach house in Orange Beach, it's easy to keep active. After all, the beachright outside your doorstep beckons you for that daily run on the sand. However, runners looking for a bit more structure or maybe some friendly competition will be drawn to register for the Azalea Trail Run in Mobile while enjoying a beach getaway.
Every year in late March, thousands of runners race down the beautiful streets of downtown Mobile, where stunning homes, historic buildings, the pink hues of azaleas and the sweet smells of dogwood, wisteria and bridal wreath make for a truly spectacular running experience. Mobile is just an hour from Orange Beach condo rentals, and this race might be a great chance to experience other beautiful aspects of the coastal areas of Alabama.
It's also a perfect opportunity for runners to challenge themselves in a new environment. The Azalea Trail Run is one of the premier 10K road races in the country, and was included in the 2011 RRCA National 10K Championship events. If you're not quite ready for a 10K, you can also sign up to race in 5K or 2K runs along the trail, which is completely flat.
Not a runner? Cheering on the Azalea Trail Run participants makes a great excuse to take a day trip from your Orange Beach vacation rental and allows you to see the beauty of Mobile.
