2nd Annual Oyster Cook Off at The Hangout

Noon. Teams of three compete for best oysters. Three different oyster categories with people's choice. Judged by four of the area's top chefs. Live music! Public choice award with $300.00 prize and $700.00 grand prize. Also oyster shucking competition and oyster eating competition.

3rd Annual Perdido Key Martini Festival

1:00pm-5:00pm. There’s probably no other beverage that commands the reputation for prestige, elegance, class, or panache, as the Martini. This tasty and classic concoction has an air of mystery and attraction, and will be showcased in an upscale event like no other.
Grey Goose, Three Olives and Premier Beverage have once again put together a “do not miss” one day only event located in the Villagio on Perdido Key.
With an estimated 24 booths to visit with an all-inclusive sample of premium spirits and martinis the crowds will have plenty to do. Along with the opportunity to purchase bottles at some serious savings there will be local art and craft vendors, food, and door prizes. The most anticipated part of the day will be “The 2009 Gulf Coast Bartender Showdown” at 2:30 p.m. From across the Coast, Bars and Restaurants will enter bartenders to compete for cash, trophies, prizes and the all important bragging rights in a chance to see who can prepare the BEST Martini on the Gulf Coast.
Ticket proceeds benefit several local charities.

Cascading Chrysanthemum Bloom Out!

Hundreds of colorful four-foot long cascades will be displayed on bridges and balconies, in baskets and containers throughout the Gardens. Guests will also enjoy the columns of mums and the thousands of mums in the flower beds with the fall colors of yellow, bronze, red, orange and white. The Great Lawn’s dramatic border will be a feast for the eyes. Bellingrath’s mum display is one of the grandest in the country and all the cascades are grown at Bellingrath.

From I-65
Take Bay Minette exit 37 and travel south on Gulf Shores Parkway (Hwy. 59) approximately 53 miles.

From I-10
Take Loxley exit 44 and travel south on Gulf Shores Parkway (Hwy. 59) approximately 27 miles. The Meyer Real Estate Gulf Shores office is located at 1585 Gulf Shores Parkway. PERDIDO KEY OFFICE - Follow the Foley Beach Express signs south of Summerdale, cross the toll bridge ($3.00 toll) and turn left on Canal Road (Hwy. 180). Turn right on Hwy. 161 which connects with Perdido Beach Blvd. (Hwy. 182). Turn left on Hwy. 182 and drive approximately 10 miles. The Meyer Real Estate office is located in the Villagio Shopping Center on the left.
By Air
Major airports in nearby Pensacola, Florida (45 minute drive) and Mobile, Alabama (1 hour drive) provide regularly scheduled flights. Jack Edwards Airport in Gulf Shores is designed to handle private and corporate jet aircraft.

From Mobile Regional Airport
