Fall in love with the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival

The weather along Alabama and Florida's Gulf Coast is always pleasant. If staying at a Perdido Key area beach house or condo rental the first full weekend of November, consider the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival, where you can enjoy the beautiful sunshine while perusing crafts, visiting artists' tents and listening to live music.

Fall in love with the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival

Thousands of people flock to the city of Pensacola for the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival every fall, so if you're staying at a Perdido Key area vacation rental during this three-day event, you should join the fray! What makes this gathering so incredible is the number of sights and activities - quality art of all kinds, of course, plus live music, face painting, dancing and, naturally, dozens of food tents.

Local and international artists

The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival isn't open to every artisan who submits their work - a panelist group surveys more than 600 applicants every year and
picks about 200 to be featured during the event. Awards are presented the first evening, including category winners, best of show and merit winners. Artists compete for more than $25,000 in total prize money, so it's important that they put their best foot forward - and you get to reap the benefits!

The artistic creations nestled under the live oaks in Seville Square range from ceramics, drawing and jewelry to printmaking, wood, fiber/leather and glass. With so many options for gifts for your loved ones, your home and yourself, you won't be walking away empty-handed.

Fun for the kids

Right around the corner from the main festival grounds is Bartram Park, where kids can participate in their very own arts event. Tents will be stacked to the brim with crafts from sand art and sidewalk drawing to clay classes and face painting. Encourage your little ones to make their own beautiful artwork that can be used to decorate your Perdido Key beach house rental until it's time to return home.
