Let The Good Times Roll!

Monday, July 8, 2019

Meyer's winter guests not only enjoy the Gulf Coast’s most beautiful white-sand beaches and mild winter temperatures, but they also get VIP treatment with exclusive access to activities and trips planned just for them during the months of January and February each year.

Winter guests may reserve the months of October, November, December, January or February up to 24 months in advance when arriving and departing on the 1st day of the month.

Reserve your favorite winter vacation property for 2019 and even 2020 before someone else does.

We "Let The Good Times Roll" in 2018

Your good times are our priority and we had a blast in January and February 2018 hosting activities exclusively for you. Below are the 2018 events we enjoyed:

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo - We treated our guests to a free self-guided tour of this quaint, small zoo that was made famous in the Animal Planet series “The Little Zoo that Could.”

The Hot Shop located at the Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach was the setting for a behind-the-scenes view of glass artists creating beautiful works of art.

On Valentine's Day we were treated to an exclusive BRANDON STYLES a tribute impersonator and magic show.
Dolphins put on a show for us for two cruises with Cetacean Cruises in Orange Beach at The Wharf.

Day Trips

National WWII Museum in New Orleans allowed an opportunity to immerse ourselves in history at the recently ranked #2 museum in the world.

Two trips were taken to the smoke-free Palace Casino Biloxi. An additional two trips went to New Orleans for a self-guided tour of the French Quarter.

We spent a day in Mobile, Alabama at GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico and theMobile History Museum exhibit Titanic Honour and Glory.

A 6-hour charter fishing trip was a new addition to our roster of fun adventures this year at Reel Surprise Charters at San Roc Cay in Orange Beach.

Another new addition to our tours this year was a Pensacola Historic Tour 1805 Lavelle House, 1871 Dorr House, 1832 Old Christ Church and the 1890 Lear/Rocheblave House and a charming lunch in the Courtyard room at 5 Sisters Blues Café.

Our last day trip was to Bellingrath Gardens & Home in Mobile to see what was blooming.

Property Tours

We opened up selected condos and houses for two free Tours of Rental Properties and one Tour of Properties for Sale.

Signature Events

In mid-February we held our annual free Ice Cream Social and Fashion Show to roll out fun beach and golf fashions and ice cream treats.

Trivia Night is a fun event that benefits the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach libraries.

This was year 25 for our annual Golf Tournament, which we held again at Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.

What Our Winter Guests Say About Their “Home Away from Home”

Scott H., Pekin, Ill.: “Thanks for putting things together.”

Joseph L., Huntley, Ill.: “We love the Alabama Gulf Coast because of the beauty and we love it because it does NOT have the congestion that the Florida coast has. I would love to see more trips to NOLA with its history. We are so looking forward to next year!”

Mike P., Archbold, Ohio: “My wife and I come to Gulf Shores in the winter from Ohio for a variety of reasons…
· The extremely friendly people.
· It is a much shorter trip for us (14 hours) than Florida where we used to go.
· We like the small town feel and less crowded February feel that Gulf Shores provides.
· We prefer the 60/70-degree weather vs. the hotter temps in Florida.
· Love the beach and restaurants.
· Gulf Shores provides a more relaxed/laid back atmosphere during this time.
· The cost of staying in Gulf Shores is about one-third the cost of going to Florida in February.
· We have found that working with the property management teams that Gulf Shores provides are easy to work with when searching for a property to rent.
I have been impressed with your continued winter events schedule and Meyer’s willingness to continually look for improvements. We prefer working with Meyer at this time because they have been quick to respond to our needs and issues. Your website is informative and easy to use. Meyer provides activities for their guests that other property management agencies do not. The Meyer staff, I am sure, deal with a tremendous amount of people on a daily basis, however, I have always felt fully informed and a part of the family.”

Phil S., Jenison, Mich.: “We chose the Alabama coast because it is not as crowded in January and February as our former wintering spot in Naples. There is an abundance of good restaurants and almost never a wait time. The weather is great. Although it is 10 degrees cooler than South Florida, when you sit on the lanai in the sunshine, it is short sleeves and shorts weather for us Michiganders. Cost: I can have a beachfront condo for the same price per month as for a week in South Florida.”
