"YOU DON'T CHOOSE MUSIC, MUSIC CHOOSES YOU." Born in Birmingham, MAB achieved success in 1984, when his Band, 24 KARAT won the MILLER HIGH LIFE ROCK TO RICHES NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH in Los Angeles. Segueing into country in 1988, he moved to Nashville, where he got a song recorded his first night in town. Grammy Winner Shelby Lynne performed his, his father, Grady Barnette/Ron Muir song THAT'S WHERE IT HURTS in the Willie Nelson/Kristofferson movie ANOTHER PAIR OF ACES. Over the years he has written songs that have been recorded by David Ball, John Berry, Shaun Murphy, Ides of March, and many other National acts. He is also a well known teacher/mentor, working with people such as "Warner Brothers recording artist Frankie Ballard, The VOICE finalist MEGHAN LINDSEY, and America's Got Talent Alicia Michilli. He has been a mentor to Nashville songwriters Association International for 28 years. His first Frank Brown festival was with Notable country stars, THE KINLEY'S in 1997, and has been here every year since.His notable association with hit writer Jimbeau Hinson. "THE TWIN TORNADOES OF TWANGTOWN" is one of the highlights of the festival. His well known anthem, TABLES AND CHAIRS features his saying "YOU DON'T CHOOSE MUSIC, MUSIC CHOOSES YOU", and is on his current CD, "A LIFE WELL LIVED."
