Born in Mobile, Alabama John Cochran started playing guitar at the age of 9. The house he grew up in was constantly filled with the music from Motown. He was heavily influenced by Smokey Robinson, The Temptation, Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye, amongst others. This soon developed into a love for blues music. He began gigging at 18 around Mobile and Tuscaloosa. John can be seen around playing with The Brett LaGrave Band, Rondale and The Kit Katz, Amy True, Harrison McInnis, Ross Newell and John Hayes. As well as being a full time musician he has studied music at Faulkner State and The University of Southern Mississippi where, he completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. He was recently accepted to Middle Tennessee State University for the Master of Arts program to study Jazz Guitar Performance and is now based out of Nashville, Tennessee.
