Don McNatt Son of Partner to Eddy Arnold, and Grand Ole Opry fiddler, Speedy McNatt, Don grew up Memphis, He was on a BFA program at Memphis State University, when a production of HAIR elevated by an Emmy winning NBC documentary, helped him launch locally successful Rock and Rock Bands, which later, had Country Weekly Magazine, calling him a 'Memphis Legend". He left Memphis, however, with road bands, playing Rock, and R&B, relocating in a few years to San Francisco, then Hollywood, California. In Los Angeles, he was nominated 4 years running for Male Vocalist, and Male Entertainer of the year, by the CaiIfornia Country Music Association. He won the Male Vocalist award 2 of those years in the 90's. He also worked as an actor, in several films, commercials and episodic TV programs. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He started playing as a single, and writing more, and his music moved to a more country place, perhaps going back to his Dad's influence. He Starting the WRITERS IN THE ROUND Television program, that shot for over 15 years, and played at times in California, Texas, and Tennessee. He moved to Nashville, and continued the program, collecting video of some of Nashville's most historic Songwriters. While in Nashville, the Tennessee Rythm and Blues Society Awarded Don a lifetime achievement award, at an event in his honor, in 2014. He now proudly lives in Perdido Key, playing with the MACS in local venues here. September premiered a new commercial Don is in, that accompanies the PBS History of Country Music Series.
