Dark Waters Project (Adam & Cherish Hamby) Adam Hamby, is one half of the Nashville Darkgrass Duo, Dark Waters Project. Born in Oneida, TN, he was raised singing in churches, but joined CCM group The Fifth Seal in 2000, where they had a single reach Christian Radio titled, "Mercedes." Adam was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival Songwriting Contest, with his song, "Deep Red." His song "Heart So Heavy" was cut by Australian Country Artist Kelly Brooks. Cherish was born in Oklahoma City, OK, but moved to Nashville when she was a child. She grew up playing the Bluebird cafe and other Nashville iconic venues catching the ear of well-known producers and engineers in the music industry. She released a self-titled 6 song EP that was recorded and produced by Mark Miller at Forerunner Music / Allentown Studios that was very popular on Americana radio. She had 3 singles from that album that hit the radio at the age of 19, with air play across the country. Adam and Cherish, are the founding members of Nashville Darkgrass duo, Dark Waters Project. They have been touring North America since 2010 together with their band. He has been the lead singer of 3 different bands over the last 2 decades, releasing an EP with 2 of them (The Fifth Seal 2005; Stonesfall 2007) and a solo album titled “Trails,” in 2003. Influenced heavily by his Christian faith, he writes and sings from his soul and it can be heard in both his voice and lyrics.
