Looking for a great way to spend a morning or afternoon on the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast? Or, do you want a great place to shop for uniquely coastal apparel and accessories?

Take time at The Wharf in Orange Beach, to shop, dine, relax and play to your heart’s content. And, if you choose to stay at one of the Wharf's condos, you will have access to the incredible Oasis at the Wharf, featuring waterfalls, a lazy river, a zero-entry pool, concessions and more.

Entertainment Options

The Wharf is a perfect spot for families, with several kid-friendly activities, regardless of their age.

For example, at Arena The Next Level, the kids can tire themselves out playing laser tag or bazooka ball, a hilarious and thrilling game similar to laser tag that shoots soft balls from a cool gun. Don’t worry, the kids will be wearing protective gear while learning teamwork and strategy!

The Wharf recently opened a new mini golf course called The Wharf Putt Putt. Open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the course invites children under 4 to play free while older kids and adults play for $7 per person. Send dad to play mini golf with the kids while you explore all the shops.

The Wharf is a great place to head off on a boating excursion. Dolphin and sunset excursions are available aboard the Sunny Lady. Orange Beach Boat Rentals provides reliable and clean boats to visitors who want to head out on the water but did not bring their own boat. You can also charter a tour boat to create your own excursion from A-Pair-A-Dice Charters.

A major local landmark, the Ferris Wheel is open every day for rides with a view high above the treetops. Kids under 3 ride free; others pay $5 per person. A great way to cap off an evening at The Wharf.

Later on, starting at around 8:30 p.m., the SPECTRA Sound and Light Spectacular gets underway. SPECTRA incorporates sophisticated choreographed lighting effects with popular, surround-sound music to entertain audiences of all ages. During the show, The Wharf is flooded with light and Main Street is transformed into a magical stage where the palm trees become the stars of the show.

Carmike Cinemas is on site at The Wharf with a 15-screen theater, where all the latest movies are shown.

Another entertainment option is attending a concert at The Wharf Amphitheater, a 10,000-seat venue that has played host to some of the entertainment world’s biggest acts—Jimmy Buffett, Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Widespread Panic, Jason Aldean, John Mayer, Eric Church, Def Leppard, Journey and more.

The Wharf calendar is also chock full of special events ranging from Kids’ Night activities to car shows, festivals, fishing tournaments and more.

Shops at The Wharf run the gamut from offering beauty and health products and home electronics to jewelry and accessories, clothing and shoes for the entire family, and Tervis Tumblers.

Kid-friendly gear and clothing can be found at Build-a-Bear Workshop, Khloe & Kate, Sand Dollar Lifestyles, Seaside Shoes and Shades Sunglasses.

Home Furnishings are available in several places, including Bungalows (a really fun shop!), M II, Melanie’s, Sea la vie Designs and The Orange Grove.

Whether you need to pick up a quick snack (try the jerky at House of Jerky, or stop in to the Market at the Wharf), just dessert, or you prefer something a little more substantial, The Wharf has a dining experience to suit all tastes.

Driftwood Bar & Grille is located on the waterfront and features local farm and seafood dishes.

Ginny Lane features dishes prepared with fresh, local seafood and Certified Black Angus Beef. It also features a selection of craft brews and cocktails, creative martinis and wine. A pool table in the bar area makes late night fun!

If you have a passion for premium cigars and want a place to unwind after a day of shopping, Our Cigar Bar is an option. This establishment serves premium cigars, fine wines, liquors and a dose of relaxation.

Ronin Sushi Bar & Restaurant is a contemporary sushi and steak house that focuses on different rice flavors complemented by locally farmed products and fresh Gulf seafood. The steak program is centralized around a “hot rock” program where guests cooks their own steaks at the table on a 500-degree Himalayan salt block.

A fun spot for fried seafood, cold drinks and live music is The Hot Spot Music & Grub, where the thin cut fried fish is the best. The venue also showcases some of the top local musicians and is a great spot to watch a game on TV.

Looking for a healthy Panini or salad, a gelato or a rich cup of coffee? The Southern Grind Coffee House is just the place. Sit inside or out on the covered porch while sipping a latte!

You can’t come to Orange Beach and not take time out to visit The Wharf! With so many shops, restaurants and fun things to do, you could spend a couple of hours or an entire day there and never be bored.
