In the early days, Meyer’s founders and other community leaders helped spread the word about the beautiful white-sand beaches and emerald-green Gulf waters, resulting in an influx of families vacationing on the coast.
Meyer Helps Shape Beach CommunitiesWith its focus on creating an environment ideally suited for family-focused fun, growing community infrastructure, and attracting vacation rental property owners to its vacation rental program, Meyer has played a significant role in helping build the once sleepy little village into what is now one of the top beach destinations in the United States.
Meyer Vacation Rentals manages 1,100+ beach condos and houses along a 38-mile stretch of beach stretching from Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores to the west and Orange Beach, Ala., and Perdido Key, Fla., to the east.
Today, Meyer welcomes 30,000+ reservations annually from visitors throughout the United States.
Team Members Know This Area Like The Back Of Their HandA team of longtime local residents proudly serves up Southern hospitality to visitors who hail from all over the United States. Our team’s “make it happen” attitude shines through from the research and planning phase of a vacation to the moment a reservation is made, all the way to the end of their stay and long afterwards.
24/7 Focus On GuestsOur front desk is staffed 24/7 by people who have the local knowledge to answer a variety of questions—“What’s the best seafood restaurant?”; “Where can I purchase a birthday cake?”; “Do you have dog-friendly vacation rentals?”; and more.
Our team is also on duty any time of day or night to help resolve issues—simple ones like learning how to operate a TV remote control and even more complicated ones, like repairing a leaky faucet or a fridge that won’t cool quickly enough, for example.
Training Takes Center Stage Every DayOur team of full-time and seasonal maintenance and housekeeping professionals (along with other front-line staff) participates in regular training with our full-time, experienced and skilled corporate trainer who develops case studies and training strategies using real-world examples. What better way to learn than to work through a scenario that actually occurred in our day-to-day operations to determine how our team members can exceed customer expectations during every guest interaction?
Our Leaders Are Serious About Serving Up HospitalityHaving celebrated the company’s 50th anniversary in 2017, Meyer has remained true to its goals of providing focused, stellar services to its guests, property owners and local communities it serves. These goals start at the top with Sheila Hodges, who founded SH Enterprises Inc., the umbrella company under which Meyer, CENTURY 21 Meyer Real Estate, and Starr Textile Services operates today.
“Meyer’s core values are centered on serving with integrity; conducting ourselves and our business in an honest, ethical and trustworthy manner; treating everyone with care, respect and fairness; providing financial stewardship; and growing through innovation and creativity,” said Meyer Vacation Rentals President Michelle Hodges, who was raised in the vacation rental management industry and grew up on this stretch of the coastline. “We work daily to utilize our highly skilled team of professionals to seek out new and effective ways of providing excellent service to our vacationing guests and to our vacation rental property owners.”
Two Meyer All-Star front desk team members went out of their way recently to surprise a couple visiting for their anniversary. As the couple was checking in, the Meyer team members noticed the couple’s interest in a cake they had purchased from a nearby supermarket to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
“The guests said they were celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary with us and that they were excited to share their anniversary date with the royal couple from here on out,” Hodges said. “This dynamic duo decided to surprise our guests with their own miniature version of the cake and an anniversary card they purchased and delivered. Wow! These guests have celebrated all but one of their nine anniversaries with Meyer, and I feel quite confident these two team members sealed the deal for Meyer to host their 10th wedding anniversary, too!”
Our Clients & Guests Say It BestTravel advisor Belinda Unbehagen recently visited the Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area and said Meyer was a dream to work with. “I recommend any agent to book through them! I have been looking for a company to book through for my Gulf beach-bound clients, and I am so glad to say that after being a client of Meyer Vacation Rentals myself, I can 100% book my clients with Meyer. I know that Meyer will handle my clients like family, because that is how I felt when we spent a week at The Citadel in Fort Morgan, Ala. Everything was perfect, from the comfy beds to the clean interior and the magnificent views! Once I was registered with April as an agent, booking my family was a breeze.”
Many of our guests have stayed with Meyer for decades, including Glida M. of Birmingham, Ala. “We have stayed with you for years because of the properties you have and the courtesy of your employees. You are always willing to help when it is needed.”
Kenny D. of Walnut Shade, Mo., praised the courteous staff. “I must say that the entire process of our rental went as smooth as silk, which has to be a direct reflection of the efficiency of your staff. Thank you!”
Meyer owner partners also appreciate our attention to detail, commitment to providing stellar service and professionalism. Recently, an owner partner recognized Owner Services team member Briana Tisch for her outstanding service.
“I'm sure you're already aware, but I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I appreciate working with Briana and her group. I've had at least three condos on the coast for the last 12-15 years, so have had the opportunity to work with numerous people as client relations contacts. Simply put, Briana is the best I’ve worked with. She is professional, prompt, cordial and very effective. She gets things done! It is obvious that she has the client's welfare as a priority, as well as representing Meyer in a highly commendable manner.”
