Have yourself a merry little vacation with seasonal Alabama activities

Despite any shortage of snowfall, you and your family can still manage to get in the holiday spirit during your Gulf Shores vacation. By participating in a variety of seasonal activities, you won't miss out on any of the normal festivities - from Christmas to New Year's Eve.

Spread holiday cheer along the shores of Alabama

If you and your family members find yourselves on the coast of Alabama during Christmastime, you may be wondering what kinds of activities you can do to boost your festive spirits. While it is not likely that your holidays in Gulf Shores will be white with snow there will be snow-white beaches and will definitely be full of cheer.

No matter the types of traditions you and your children normally enjoy during the yuletide season, there will be more than one opportunity for you to have fun and get into the festive spirit. You can participate in a number of different events throughout Gulf Shores, making both your vacation and your holidays more than memorable.

Traditions with a Southern twist

Have yourself a merry little vacation with seasonal Alabama activitiesThink back to all of the Christmases you've shared with your family. Are there some common threads that tie all of these memories together? Just because you are on vacation does not mean you have to abandon these customary holiday activities altogether. You can stay true to them, while still adding an Alabama twist to these traditions.

For instance, do you typically like to go caroling or have a holiday sing-a-long with your children? Luckily for you, there are various annual opportunities in Gulf Shores that allow you to share the gift of music with your family members. Alabama's Coastal Christmas's website explained that you can hear all of your seasonal favorites by tuning into the area's local radio stations.

Starting from Thanksgiving and going all the way past Christmas, residents and travelers alike can listen to Christmas classics, as well as more modern holiday anthems. This is perfect if you and your family are spending some quality time together in the car, driving to nearby attractions or celebrations.

Where exactly should you be heading? Well, you could always pass by The Wharf in Orange Beach for some ice skating. Throughout the holiday season, this locale hosts skating events for visitors of all ages throughout the weekdays and weekends. What's more, you don't even have to worry about wasting valuable car space by packing your family's skates. The Wharf will provide you with rentals, which is included in the price of admission.

Ring in the new year with coastal activities

If you have already set your Christmas plans in stone and don't have much wiggle room in your trip itinerary, then you can still incorporate local festivities into your schedule when the new year rolls around. You will come across various parties held in the Gulf Shores area, and you and your family can decide whether you want to make the rounds or if you want to plant yourselves in a single location for the entire New Year's Eve.

Did you and your children enjoy yourselves at The Wharf? If you did, then you should think about returning there for its annual street party called Reeling in the New Year. Your children can participate in all kinds of kid-friendly activities like face painting, karaoke and bounce houses. At the same time, you can listen to live music up until the customary marlin drops at midnight.

Otherwise, you can take to the water for Gulf Shores's Beach Bash at the Gulf State Park Pavilion. The City of Gulf Shores announced that this event will be full of spectacular fun, including a bonfire complete with s'mores. Additionally, there will be live music and DJ performances, as well as two fireworks displays. If you do decide to visit, check out our specials before booking.
