You’ve probably seen the signs on the counter at the gas station: “need-a-penny-take-a-penny.”
Well, now you can do that with kids’ toys on Gulf State Park beaches.
Adding another layer of “sharing” at the park and giving vacationers a spot to deposit beach toys at the end of the day in accordance with the "Leave Only Footprints" law, Gulf State Park staff members painted and distributed new toy boxes for visitors to deposit or take a toy to play with at the beach.
There are five boxes, and visitors are encouraged to drop off a toy and take a toy as desired.
Gulf State Park implemented a new bike-sharing program that allows visitors to borrow bikes to traverse the 28 miles of paved back-country trails that wind through the park.
Gulf State Park is a very accessible state park, with a fishing and education pier on the Gulf, numerous boardwalks, a nature center, a butterfly garden, 28 miles of back-country trails, and the new bike-sharing program.
A two-bedroom condo capable of accommodating up to six or eight people in Gulf Shores is an ideal spot to stay when Gulf State Park is on your vacation agenda. Or, if you need to accommodate a bigger crew, consider a house with five or more bedrooms.
