The House: Avocet, located Gulf front in the peaceful Fort Morgan community of Surfside Shores, sleeps up to 22 people in its five bedrooms. A large sundeck with seating around a private pool overlooks the Gulf, inviting groups to gather to watch the kids splash in the pool. Because it can accommodate such a large crew, there are two dishwashers, an ice machine, and an outdoor shower.
What’s Near Avocet: Located 13.8 miles west of Ala. Hwy. 59, Avocet is a perfect spot from which to explore attractions like historic Fort Morgan, the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge and beautiful beaches. The House: With the ability to sleep up to 20 people in its six bedrooms, including three master suites that face the Gulf, Beach Estate West is a family reunion favorite. What’s Nearby: An idyllic vacation destination, the Fort Morgan area is a bit quieter than its sister destinations of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, but Fort Morgan is still close to plenty of restaurants and attractions. The House: With five bedrooms and four baths, Lotsa Dunes has “lotsa” room for families. Capable of sleeping up to 14 people, this house is outfitted with two bedrooms with king-sized beds, a bedroom with two queen-sized beds, a bedroom with two double-sized beds and a bedroom with two twin beds. Sundancer EastGulf Shores
The House: The east side of a duplex, Sundancer East is capable of sleeping up to 16 people in its five bedrooms. And, with 5 ½ bathrooms, everyone can enjoy time together as well as private space. A pool shared with guests of both sides of the duplex overlooks the Gulf. A whirlpool tub is also on site. Two refrigerators in the property help keep food fresh and ready for a snack or meal. What’s Nearby: When visiting Gulf Shores, make time to take a dolphin cruise or a romantic sunset cruise on the backwaters. Or, if deep-sea fishing is on the agenda, there are plenty of options. The Wild AirGulf Shores
The House: Located 2.8 miles west of Ala. Hwy. 182 in Gulf Shores, the Gulf-front home called “The Wild Air” welcomes visitors with a large open living area, gourmet kitchen, granite countertops in the kitchen and in all bathrooms and a professionally decorated interior. The two-story house features 3,380 square feet of space and can accommodate up to 18 people in its seven bedrooms. On the Gulf side is a newly constructed boardwalk leading directly to the beach. A rinsing shower on the boardwalk makes it easy for guests to avoid tracking sand indoors. The living room offers comfortable seating for everyone and opens into the dining and kitchen area. Living space extends onto the Gulf-front balcony. Cozy and ample seating on the balcony invites guests to relax, dine or watch the sunrise and set outdoors. One of the most unique features of this house is a Jacuzzi tub in the master suite that is situated beside a picture window that frames the Gulf. Luxury with a view!
What’s Nearby: Being so close to it all in Gulf Shores is a major draw for guests who reserve a vacation at The Wild Air. The House: Resembling a grand old Victorian home, only at the beach, is the aptly named Victorian Follies. Able to sleep up to 14 people in its six bedrooms, this house welcomes guests with 3,600 square feet of space and is located in The Dunes Subdivision. This three-level house is approximately 19.2 miles west of Ala. Hwy. 59 and is so comfortable that guests may find themselves never wanting to leave. The master suite on the third level has a large roof deck and wet bar. Furnishings are cream and beige in color and exude the coastal style. The kitchen and dining area are open and there is plenty of seating for large groups and quiet get-togethers. There are also multiple decks and covered areas for family gatherings. Access to the nearby Dunes condo complex includes three community pools, including one outdoor pool with cabana, an outdoor children’s pool and a swim-through pool. There is also a hot tub and workout room on site at the condominium complex.
What’s Nearby: Fort Morgan is a fantastic jumping off point to for a day trip to Dauphin Island, where you will find the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium. Like an aquarium, an estuarium allows visitors to take a trip under water to view marine life as the sea creatures would. This unique family attraction has intrigued both young and old for years as they explore the area’s unique ecosystem. To get to Dauphin Island, park the car at the Mobile Bay Ferry dock near Fort Morgan. Along the ride, spot coastal birds and marine life or relax as you enjoy 40 minutes of relaxation under the sun and taking in the spectacular views of the Mobile Bay area.
