Bring the kids over to Gulf State Park during the summer of 2018 for the Gulf State Park Junior Ranger Program.
Held at 9 a.m., Fridays, from June 8-July 27 (excluding July 6), the Gulf State Park program is open to kids aged 11 to 14 accompanied by a parent.
Depending on the class attended, junior rangers will learn the ins and outs of camping; search for a mock turtle nest on the beach and monitor it to protect hatchlings; learn about birds of prey, learn about the basics of fishing, including rigging a fishing rod and baiting a hook; learn about bugs and insects that live in Gulf State Park; learn about the animals and plants that live in the area; learn the difference between frogs and toads; and more.
To make reservations for a session, call the Nature Center at (251) 948-7275, ext. 2114.
Once class is finished for the day, be sure to explore Gulf State Park’s nature trails, nature center, and fishing and education pier, among other facilities.
A Gulf Shores four-bedroom condo is a perfect spot to accommodate more than one family, including the little ones.
