You’re at the beach and don’t feel like leaving your beautiful vacation rental to go out to a restaurant. The family doesn’t want to order pizza from the usual chain restaurant or Chinese food tonight, so what do you do?

Place your order with a new delivery service in the Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Orange Beach and Perdido Key area, and a driver will bring the restaurant (food, that is) to you—typically within 40-45 minutes!

Nick Prentice and J.C. Rodrigue are partners in Gulf To Go, which opened last summer with plenty of business. Prentice said it’s easy to place an order on the website.

“Go to Click on a restaurant to see a full menu. Each menu item appears as a clickable option. Once you click the item, it goes into your shopping cart. When you check out, we place your order and dispatch a driver to the restaurant. The driver picks up the food and gets it to you typically in 40-45 minutes or maybe up to an hour on a very busy summer evening,” Prentice said, adding that a reasonable delivery fee is factored into the price.

Prentice said the reception from customers has been positive. “We have great reviews on Facebook and Google, and we have quite a few repeat customers,” he said. “In fact, when we don’t hear from them for a while, we start to get a little worried.”

Prentice said since opening Gulf To Go, the company has stayed very busy delivering orders without fail each day. “Our customers are thrilled that we cover a larger area than other food delivery services. We go all the way to the end of Fort Morgan Road and into Perdido Key. With fall breaks, Columbus Day and the Shrimp Festival, we’ve definitely started to consider hiring a few more full-time people.
