The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, has announced its 2020 concert series, with more performances expected to be announced as they are added throughout the year.
April 18 – Brantley Gilbert
Brantley Gilbert with special guests Chase Rice and Brandon Lay will take the stage at the Wharf on April 18 as part of his Fire’t Up Tour 2020, which has been described as a “rowdy return to his roots.” The tour is based for his recent album, “Fire & Brimstone.” Gilbert recently topped the charts with his single, “what Happens In A Small Town.” In 2012, Gilbert was named the Academy of Country Music Awards’ New Male Vocalist of the Year.
May 17 – Chicago
Legendary rock band Chicago will perform at The Wharf as part of their 2020 tour. Winner of the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the Grammy winning band debuted in 1969, has had five No. 1 albums and nearly three dozen Top 40 hits. Record sales have topped the 100 million mark, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards. This is the band’s 53rd consecutive year of touring, with three original band members, Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane and Jimmy Pankow, never having missed a year.
May 21 – Old Dominion
Five-member country music band Old Dominion will perform at the Wharf on May 21. With music that is a blend of contemporary country with rock instrumentation and pop overtones, the band has released three full-length albums. Some of the band’s popular singles include “Break Up with Him,” “Written in the Sand,” and “Hotel Key.”
May 29 – The Molly Ringwalds
An energetic, engaging cover band, the Molly Ringwalds are set to hit the stage at the Wharf on May 29. The band brings with it a captivating light show and a movable set that draws everyone into the show. Specializing in 80s music, the band is known for having a giant list of songs from AC/DC, A-Ha, Adam Ant, Bryan Adams, The Bangles, Toni Basil, David Bowie, Beastie Boys, Pat Benetar, Bon Jovi, Blondie, The Cars, The Cure, David Lee Roth, Dead or Alive, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The GoGos, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, Poison, Quiet Riot, The Police, and more.
May 30 – Brooks & Dunn
As part of its 2020 Reboot Tour, Brooks & Dunn will perform in Orange Beach on May 30. An American country music duo composed of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. The duo has 20 No. 1 hits dating back to 1991, two Grammy awards, dozens of ACM and CMA honors, and more. Hits include “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “Only in America,” and “Believe.” The duo has sold more than 30 million albums.
June 5 – Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan will take his “Proud to be Right Here” Tour to Orange Beach on June 5. The Orange Beach show is one of nearly 40 he will perform throughout the country with Morgan Wallen, Caylee Hammack and Runaway June as special guests. The tour name is a phrase from Bryan’s new album’s title track, “Born Here Live Here Die Here.” Bryan was named Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year award. His 2013 album, “Crash My Party,” received the first Album of the Decade award from the Academy of Country Music. He was announced as the artist with the seventh most album sales of all of the 2010-2019 decade.
June 27 – Tedeschi Trucks
Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, with roots steeped in blues, jazz and gospel, will perform in Orange Beach on June 27. Married since 1999, the duo, which performs with 10 band members, has been described as “epic,” by the Santa Barbara Independent. The band performs a mix of American blues and blues rock and won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album in 2012. The band has released four studio and two live albums.
August 1 – Chris Young
American country music singer Chris Young, winner of the Nashville Star singing competition aired on USA Network and member of the Grand Ole Opry, will perform Aug. 1 at The Wharf in Orange Beach. “Raised on Country” is the lead-off single for his seventh studio album released in January 2019. Young has been nominated for numerous country music awards, including Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Collaboration for “Sober Saturday Night,” performed with Vince Gill.
August 26 – Journey
American rock band Journey, originally formed in 1973 and known for a series of hit songs such as “Don’t Stop Believin,” will take the stage in Orange Beach on Aug. 26. Today, the band’s lead singer is Arnel Pineda of the Philippines. Pineda was a YouTube find whose first album with Journey debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard charts, selling more than 196,000 units in its first two weeks and staying in the top 20 for six weeks.
September 28 – Def Leppard
English rock band Def Leppard, part of the new wave of British heavy metal bands, takes the stage on Sept. 28. Known for songs like “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Love Bites,” Hysteria” and more, Def Leppard will perform in Orange Beach as part of its 20/20 Vision Tour with special guest ZZ Top. Def Leppard has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and is one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling more than 10 million copies in the United States. The band was ranked No. 31 in VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and ranked No. 70 in its 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
