Football fans from around the country will be in Mobile, Alabama, this month to watch the best college football players from the North and the South take each other on while recruiters and coaches from the NFL look on and make their initial draft judgments.

If you're staying in a Gulf shores rental and visiting Mobile for the Under Armour Senior Bowl, no doubt you're looking forward to the action on the field. But another aspect of football that most fans can't do without is tailgating. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some of South Alabama's best seafood fare on the grill while you get pumped up for the game. Here are the best three places to find tailgating festivities.

The Senior Bowl Tailgate Challenge

There are plenty of fun opportunities to tailgate the 2013 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.Baumhower's Restaurant is hosting the annual Senior Bowl Tailgate Challenge in the parking lot of the Ladd-Peebles Stadium on game day. During this event, registered tailgaters cook up what they think is the best pre-football fare around and compete for the title of "Tailgate Challenge Champion." A panel of judges will rank foods in shrimp, oyster, fish and crab categories. The grand prize winner will be recognized on field during the first half of the game and will receive a trophy and special prize valued at more than $1,000.
