When looking for the ultimate in convenience, consider a ground-floor beach vacation rental, said Anna Grantham, the leader of the Vacation Planning team for Meyer Vacation Rentals. “There are many benefits offered by ground-floor properties,” Anna said, adding that vacationers with mobility issues often particularly appreciate ground-floor units. “First, luggage is less of a headache,” she said. “No waiting on elevators, no lugging bags up stairs. Just walk from the parking lot to your beach rental!” And, when you’re ready to head out to enjoy local restaurants or attractions, it’s easy to come and go at your convenience. Often, amenities in the common spaces are more easily accessed from ground-floor units. “Some units even offer access to the beach or pool through a gate on the guest’s private balcony,” Anna said. “Those who do not have a gate still have an easier time managing beach chairs, umbrellas or coolers.” For the ultimate in relaxation from inside the unit, Anna said the sound of the waves rolling in and out is more audible from ground-floor units than those situated on a higher floor. Anna said some guests enjoy watching family members swim at the pool or play on the beach from their ground-floor balconies. “It makes everyone feel so much closer during a family vacation,” she added.
