New Bill Would Extend Baldwin Beach Express To I-65
Alabama Senator Bill Hightower of Mobile recently introduced Senate Bill 267 to route some of the $1 billion Alabama BP settlement to the coastal region, including Baldwin and Mobile counties.
One of the target projects of the bill would include linking the Baldwin Beach Express
from I-10 to I-65 at a cost of about $180 million.
Other proposed projects would include improvements to stretches of U.S. 98 and Rangeline Road in Mobile and helping Alabama homeowners fortify and repair roofs with the goal of getting better insurance premiums after the improvements.
