Baldwin Beach Express Expansion To I-65

A new Alabama senate bill has been introduced that would extend Baldwin Beach Express from Interstate 10 to Interstate 65, making it even easier to reach Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan and Perdido Key.

New Bill Would Extend Baldwin Beach Express To I-65

Alabama Senator Bill Hightower of Mobile recently introduced Senate Bill 267 to route some of the $1 billion Alabama BP settlement to the coastal region, including Baldwin and Mobile counties.

One of the target projects of the bill would include linking the Baldwin Beach Express from I-10 to I-65 at a cost of about $180 million.

Other proposed projects would include improvements to stretches of U.S. 98 and Rangeline Road in Mobile and helping Alabama homeowners fortify and repair roofs with the goal of getting better insurance premiums after the improvements.

The Beach Express provides an alternative to taking State Highway 59 to reach Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan and Perdido Key.

Use the Beach Express to more quickly reach your beach house or condo on the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast.
