The Wharf Amphitheater Concert Schedule

The Wharf has been a great addition to the Orange Beach Waterway, conveniently located on Canal Road at the foot of the Foley Beach Express Bridge. Concerts are held in the 10,000-seat outdoor amphitheater. It is such a cool place because they kept with the whole natural "wharf" feel throughout. Venture over wooden boardwalks through the wetlands to enter the arena. There really isn't a bad seat in the place because they have two huge Jumbotron screens that make you feel closer to the stage even if you are seated in one of the top tiers.

Unique shops and restaurants are situated by the marina so you can watch the boats come and go as you enjoy some oysters on the half shell, sushi, or any number of other delectable dishes. The Oasis pool area is incredible. Float the lazy river, relax in a hammock, cool off in the zero-entry pool or really cool off at the tiki bar! If weather forces you indoors, catch a movie at the theatre or find a breeze on the Ferris wheel. The view from atop the Ferris wheel is amazing, especially at night. Reserve a condo at The Wharf for your favorite live performances.

DETAILS:

It's the Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour! Grammy-nominated Eric Church is 2011's iTunes Country Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Since his 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me, Eric has been recognized as one of the most acclaimed new songwriters in country music. Whether enjoying his hard-edged live shows or his creative style flexibility on his recordings, you know you're in the presence of someone unafraid to branch out, take risks and use his passion to match what his fans want. You'll recognize this in his singles “Love Your Love the Most” and “Smoke a Little Smoke," and the recent "Homeboy" from his 3rd album, Chief.

Brantley Gilbert was born and raised in the small town of Jefferson, Georgia, just outside the Athens city limits. It is that upbringing and small-town influence Brantley credits for cultivating his unique sound. With well-known rock bands REM and the B-52s having roots nearby, Brantley’s taste in music always swayed toward a rock feel, but his true-to-life testimony of heartache, trials, triumph and success found a home in country music. Brantley quickly realized that his acoustic shows—however intimate—didn’t satisfy his audience’s thirst for his rock-infused country music. In order to meet their demand, Brantley formed a band. “We went from these acoustic shows to a bona fide country-rock-soul show that is wide open,” says Gilbert. “Even when we play a ballad it’s high energy.”

The Avett Brothers

WHEN: Friday, March 16, 2012, 8 p.m.
WHERE: The Wharf Amphitheater
PRICE: $34, $44.  Order Online
ARTIST: The Avett Brothers ::
DETAILS:

You loved them at Hangout Music Fest, now they are in town as a headliner act! There is no harmony like brotherly harmony. Something indelible in the weave of voices and play of sensibilities is stamped into the fraternal DNA and also stems from a lifetime of shared experiences. You can hear it in classic brother acts across the musical spectrum, from the Louvin Brothers to the Everly Brothers and on down the decades through the Wilson brothers (Beach Boys), the Davies brothers (Kinks), the Allman Brothers and even the Brothers Gibb (a.k.a., the Bee Gees). You can clearly hear fraternal magic at work in the songs of Scott and Seth Avett, better known as the Avett Brothers, as well.

That magic is abundantly evident on I and Love and You, the Avett Brothers’ big-label debut. Its 13 songs are delivered in a style that defies pigeonholing but might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop – even a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Enjoy a beach weekend to see The Avett Brothers in March, then return for a week of fun to attend the 3-day Hangout Music Fest May 18-20! Ever-changing accommodation specials are available through Meyer Vacation Rentals. Browse Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan (Alabama) and Perdido Key (Florida) deals.

TICKETS:

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 13. Available through Ticketmaster.
