Feel the Thunder, Hear the Roar
This year’s Thunder on the Gulf Race Village will be open at the Gulf State Park Pavilion daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing race fans the joy of observing these awesome powerboats up close along with their teams. The younger enthusiasts can play at the Kids Pavilion, and there will be race merchandise for sale. Saturday also features live entertainment at the Race Village and a boat parade that evening. Races will be held all four days of the event, with qualifying races on Thursday and Saturday and championship races on Friday and Sunday. Officials with the Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA) World Championships promise a spectacle that’s bigger and better than ever.
