The peThere will be plenty of wines to sample at the 2013 Wine and Art Festival in Perdido Key.ople of Perdido Key know how to celebrate all year long, but the beach town's party-planning chops are displayed in full the first weekend of spring each year, when it hosts the Perdido Key Wine and Art Festival. The two-day event includes a series of events that make a fantastic addition to Perdido Key vacations.

The festival kicks off on Friday with a premier VIP party teeming with some of the best wines plus plenty of other fun and games. Visitors will gather under a 4,000-square-foot tent at Sacred Heart Field (13260 Gulf Beach Highway) to dine on appetizers from some of the best restaurants in Perdido Key plus live music, an auction and a raffle. Lyn Gentry, a glass blower who runs Hot Sands Glass in Perdido Key, is just one of the featured artists. If you are planning on staying in Perdido Key rentals during this time, you can grab tickets to this event for $25 each or $45 for a couple.

The fun and festivities continue on Saturday for the actual Art and Wine Festival in the same location. For this event, which runs from noon until 8 p.m., visitors can see the work of local artists and enjoy some tastes from many wine distributors. Live music and vendors will be at this annual event that started in 2009.

Tickets to the festival are just $15, and one ticket includes a commemorative wine glass and five tastes of wine from the many different vendors represented at the festival. Think you'll want more wine? Additional tastes are just $2, while a class will cost $8.

Whether you're a wine connoisseur or casual drinker, you're sure to find a wine that you love at this festival. It's also a great chance to learn more about the origins of some of your favorite wines. Plus, you can browse the arts and crafts from local artisans and learn more about the vibrant culture of Perdido Key.
