Noon. Teams of three compete for best oysters. Three different oyster categories with people's choice. Judged by four of the area's top chefs. Live music! Public choice award with $300.00 prize and $700.00 grand prize. Also oyster shucking competition and oyster eating competition.

3rd Annual Perdido Key Martini Festival

1:00pm-5:00pm. There’s probably no other beverage that commands the reputation for prestige, elegance, class, or panache, as the Martini. This tasty and classic concoction has an air of mystery and attraction, and will be showcased in an upscale event like no other.
Grey Goose, Three Olives and Premier Beverage have once again put together a “do not miss” one day only event located in the Villagio on Perdido Key.
With an estimated 24 booths to visit with an all-inclusive sample of premium spirits and martinis the crowds will have plenty to do. Along with the opportunity to purchase bottles at some serious savings there will be local art and craft vendors, food, and door prizes. The most anticipated part of the day will be “The 2009 Gulf Coast Bartender Showdown” at 2:30 p.m. From across the Coast, Bars and Restaurants will enter bartenders to compete for cash, trophies, prizes and the all important bragging rights in a chance to see who can prepare the BEST Martini on the Gulf Coast.
Ticket proceeds benefit several local charities.

Cascading Chrysanthemum Bloom Out!

Hundreds of colorful four-foot long cascades will be displayed on bridges and balconies, in baskets and containers throughout the Gardens. Guests will also enjoy the columns of mums and the thousands of mums in the flower beds with the fall colors of yellow, bronze, red, orange and white. The Great Lawn’s dramatic border will be a feast for the eyes. Bellingrath’s mum display is one of the grandest in the country and all the cascades are grown at Bellingrath.

The Estuarium

The Estuarium, an aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.
This exciting educational facility features the unique local ecosystems of the Mobile
Bay estuary (web cam): The Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the Gulf of
Mexico. The Estuarium explores the astounding beauty and scientific wonders of our
native habitats with striking visual displays, aquariums and engaging interactive
exhibits. The Living Marsh Boardwalk, an outdoor exhibit, introduces interpretive
signage providing details about the natural history of the Alabama marshes, geography
of the area and the evolution of barrier islands.
