Drawing, Introduction

Tuesday Mornings 9:00am - 11:30am. Instructor: Zach Baisden.
As the basis for many art forms, drawing is an essential tool and a powerful means of expression. This course is designed to familiarize students with a variety of drawing materials and techniques. Skills covered in this class will include the rendering of contour, foreshortening, perspective, tone and shading. The class will work from still life setups and projections. Exercises will range from careful and precise to loose and energetic, from realistic to abstracted. Mediums used will include pencil, charcoal and others. Students will receive individual instruction. This is an eight week class.

Watercolor, Introduction/Intermediate

Thursday Mornings 9:00am - 11:30am.
Instructor: Rich Willows.
Mr. Willows' introductory/intermediate watercolor class provides students with a basic understanding of the skills and ideas of watercolor painting. This is an eight week class. Each student receives individual attention to progress. There will be many technique demonstrations for the class. The particular skills and ideas focused on in this class include; basic color theory, brush technique, perspective, preliminary sketching, and composition .

42nd Annual Labor Day Tournament has been rescheduled!

ATTENTION!!!
Unfortunately due to Tropical Storm / Hurricane Gustov, The MBGFC Labor Day Tournament & all events (Grand Opening) that were scheduled has been postponed. The tournament has been tentatively rescheduled for the weekend of September 12-13-14.
Obviously, depending on the events of Gustov or other storms the rescheduled dates are be subject to change. For those boats who have pre-registered, entries fees may be applied to the the rescheduled tournament or will be refunded. The safety of our participants, volunteers and our families, along with our neighbors all along the Gulf Coast is our biggest concern. After this storm passes we will have a better idea regarding the tentatively rescheduled tournament dates.

Orange Beach Snapper Tournament
For the third year our area is home to a fishing tournament where you can buy a
ticket for $5 with the chance to win cash prizes totaling over $150,000. This popular
Orange Beach Red Snapper World Championship is dedicated to saving the recreational
fishing industry on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. On opening day of this month-long tournament,
that runs from mid-April to mid-May, more than 1,500 anglers purchased tickets. To

Gulf of Mexico Artificial Reefs
Marine Resources Division has been enhancing Alabama’s marine fisheries habitats for
many years creating one of the largest and most active offshore artificial reef
programs in the world. The funds raised at the Orange Beach Red Snapper World
Championship are donated to add additional artificial reefs. Last year’s tournament
resulted in adding 218 reefs and the goal this year is to add another 300 artificial
reefs to the system. To find your favorite fishing hole go to the Alabama Department

Gulf of Mexico DGPS Reef Coordinates.
